The Amazon Animal Orphanage is designated by the Peruvian Government as a "Centre of Custody" for rescued wild animals. It is home to many magnificent species under the protection of the Orphanage.Please take time to visit and be enchanted by these splendid and sometimes endangered animals. This small non-profit is in ongoing need of financial support to feed abandoned and orphaned wild animals.

Gudrun Sperrer's dream was to work with animals, including breeding one of the world's most beautiful creatures -- butterflies. At Pilpintuwasi you will see the complete life cycle and the impressive development of butterflies.
With a host of volunteers who also love nature, they are conscious of the threats to flora and fauna, and hope that all of their efforts will enable visitors to increase interest in and love of our natural world and help with conservation efforts.
